Atlanta Blood Services (“ABS,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy while providing you with the most useful information about providing our community with a much needed resource—blood and platelets.  ABS uses text messaging to communicate with donors and potential donors about promotions, scheduled donations and other information including requests for you to schedule appointments.  Please read the information below about how we use test messaging and how to opt-in or opt-out of receiving text messages from ABS. NOTE- See our Privacy Policy for additional information about how we protect your information.

1.     We respect the confidentiality of your information, and will protect the privacy of your information as described in this notice and as required by law. If you are 16 or younger, you must not provide your mobile phone number, name or any other personal information without the consent of your parent or legal guardian, or as otherwise provided for by the applicable law.

  1. When opted-in, you will receive text messages (SMS/MMS) to your mobile number. These kinds of messages may include reminders, links to your donor portal account or the on-line questionnaire, promotions, requests for platelet donations, offers, or other information.

  2. You can opt-out of this service at any time. Just text “STOP” to (770) 520-8748 the phone number. After you text “STOP” to us, we may send you an SMS reply to confirm that you have been unsubscribed. After this, you will no longer receive SMS messages from us. If you want to join again, just sign up as you did the first time, or text “START” or “JOIN” and we will start sending SMS messages to you again.

  4. Carriers, such as AT&T, are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
